PRILAN FONIO (ACHA)

CEREAL/OAT

A combination of nutrition and taste

YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING:

  • 1 cup (milk cup) of prilan fonio
  • 3 cups of water
  • Sugar/honey/milk
  • FONIO BENEFITS:

  • Fonio is one of the most nutritious of all grains.
  • Very rich in metionine and cystine, amino acids necessary for human development.
  • More nutritious than major cereals like rice, maize, sorghum, barley etc
  • Method:

    1. Add 3 cups of water to pot and allow to heat up
    2. Pour prilan fonio into the pot and keep stirring to prevent it from molding/clumping together
    3. Cook for about 7 - 10 mins on low to medium heat while stirring repeatedly
    4. Add more water if too thick or to your desired consistency
    5. Serve hot with bread/moinmoin/akara etc
    6. Serve 3-4
